HIGH TECH TIBET PROTEST IN NEW
YORK!
By
Nick Gulotta
Students for a Free Tibet
(SFT) marked International Human Rights
Day with a high tech
demonstration at the Chinese consulate in New
York City.
At 5pm, SFT members
projected a video entitled Beijing We
Are Ready as well as the Team Tibet
logo onto the side of the Chinese consulate.
The protesters also delivered
a giant Human Rights Report Card to
the consulate, which was received by consulate security. The report
card
declared that China was a human rights failure.
“China gets an F
for Freedom of Religion, Freedom of
Expression, and Freedom of Assembly,” said
Kalaya’an Mendoza, SFT’s Grassroots
Coordinator, pointing at the giant report card. “And for
Human Rights in Tibet,
China gets an F minus.” The crowd chanted, “Shame
on China!”

The hi-tech protest followed
a 200-person protest march
organized by the Regional Tibetan Youth Congress of New York and New Jersey.
The RTYC
protest march started at the United Nations, passing through Times
Square and
concluding at the Chinese consulate.
